v0.2-3 (2024-05-01)

o The BIS has announced to discontinue the provision of the
    CSV datasets listed at
    https://www.bis.org/statistics/full_data_sets.htm.
Bulk downloads should be made from the new BIS data portal.
Argument 'bis.url' has been changed accordingly, though as
of 31 January the old datasets were still available and
    could be retrieved with
      bis.url = "https://www.bis.org/statistics/" .

o 'datasets' has been replaced by a stub that currently only
crudely collects all CSV-filenames from the website

v0.2-2 (2023-09-11)

o add 'zoo' support for dataset central-bank policy
    rates ("full_cbpol_d_csv_row.zip")

v0.2-1 (2022-11-15)

o 'fetch_dataset' gains several arguments, such as
'header' and 'sep', which define the default settings
for 'read.table'. The function now correctly parses
datasets such as 'full_spp_csv.zip' that use
    double-quoted elements (thanks to Matthias
    Meiksner/IZE85 for reporting on GitHub).

o there is an additional public repository at sourcehut:
    https://git.sr.ht/~enricoschumann/BISdata

v0.2-0 (2022-10-06)

o more datasets are now supported

o add 'zoo' support for dataset USD exchange rates
    ("full_xru_d_csv_row.zip")

o function 'fetch_dataset' gains an argument
    'frequency'

v0.1-1 (2022-03-07)

o First release. The package provides functions for
downloading data from the Bank for International
Settlements (BIS; https://www.bis.org/ ) in Basel.
Supported are only full datasets in (typically) CSV
format. The package is lightweight and without
dependencies; suggested packages are used only if data
is to be transformed into particular data structures,
such as 'zoo' objects. Downloaded data can optionally
be cached, to avoid repeated downloads of the same
    files.
